Background

After many years at sea as a Maritime Officer, I made it to the rank of Captain. After which I was approached by the Company to start as a Fleet Trainer in order to level up the crew and reduce the deficiencies.

From here I went ashore as a Marine Superintendent for a Japanese company after which I set up the QHSE department for the whole group. As this was continued in Japan, I went unto the next challenge in the QHSE department for an Inland tanker company where I transferred to a sister company to spearhead the QHSE department for LNG driven inland tankerbarges as they where being commissioned. At sea I dealt with QHSE related matters and for the tanker companies I dealt with Oil Majors as clients.

Maascenter?

This is the Red & White fairway bouy for the "Maas aanloop" area to enter the Port of Rotterdam. Seeing this bouy meant coming home, when I was at sea.

So only ship related QHSE?

QHSE stands for:

  • Quality
  • Health
  • Safety
  • Environment

This is applicable in many industry sectors, thus I am able to consult in many sectors, providing a fresh perspective.
